Ring sizing.

Three ways. Use whichever fits.

Rings are made to size. We make every piece to fit the hand it's for — which means getting the size right matters more here than almost anywhere else.

Three ways to do this. Use whichever fits.

Method I — Existing ring

Take a ring that already fits the finger. Measure the inside diameter at its widest point — from one inner edge to the other. Match to the table above. This is the most accurate way to do it at home.

Method II — String or paper

Wrap a thin strip of paper or a length of string snugly around the base of the finger. Mark where it meets. Measure the marked length in millimetres — that's your circumference. Match to the table.

Method III — The atelier kit

If the piece is a commission or anything over fifteen thousand dollars, we'll mail you a sizing kit before we start. Free, returnable, accurate. Write to the atelier when you're ready.

Things to know

Fingers swell in the evening and in heat. Size in the morning, at room temperature, when you're calm. Repeat the measurement on three different days and use the largest.

The dominant hand runs a quarter to half size larger than the other.

Wider bands feel tighter. If the band is more than 4mm wide, size up by a quarter.

Every piece can be resized after the fact — but resizing changes the integrity of a setting and we'd rather not. Take the time to get it right the first time.

If you're in or near Los Angeles, private fittings are available at the atelier. Write to arrange.
